Khalilah Asaka is a photographic illustrator and writer from Baltimore, Maryland.

In her work, she challenges photography’s ties to objectivity by blending scenes from memory, her imagination, and universal symbolism to evoke both personal and collective memory through image-making. Informed by her engagement with children’s literature and illustration, Asaka’s work investigates how images and stories shape our understanding of time, memory, and the inner psyche.
